The Cellscreen system makes it possible for the first time to carry out measurements of the total cell number on undyed suspension cultures in small-volume culture vessels, such as multi-well plates.
The areas being analysed are positioned by a high-end motor cross motion stage and scanned by an auto-focus microscope camera. The system generates automatic image data of the cell culture and analyses this itself. The cells can be counted without any sampling and without the use of dyes.
The high degree of automation and the resulting rapid analysis open up entirely new areas of application for cell culture testing in biotechnology, pharmaceutics and medicine.
